Author shares family experiences in Springville, Provo, and Manti, Utah. She also recounts experiences at Brigham Young High School and Academy in Provo. In the 1920s she and her family lived in Long Beach and Berkeley, California and were active in the LDS Church there. Upon returning to Utah, Bullock worked as a sales clerk at Auerbach's in Salt Lake City and during World War II she worked at Fort Douglas. She gives insight into women in the work place during the war. She also gives information about LDS Church auxiliary organizations including the Junior Sunday School, Beehive (Young Women's) program, and ward and stake Mutual Improvement Association. She also had close associations with her sisters, Ireta and Ida, and includes information about her brother-in-law, Willis Ritter, who was a University of Utah professor and a judge. Author's father, Edwin Orlando Olson, and uncle, George Edward Anderson, were prominent Utah photographers during the early twentieth century. At the conclusion of each chapter in the autobiography, author includes digital copies of numerous family and community photos taken by her family, her uncle, and herself. The history was based on some writing and interviews recorded with Bullock by historian, William G. Hartley, who edited the volume. Volume includes life histories of author's pioneer ancestors: John Lowry, John Lowry, Jr. Sarah Jane Brown Lowry, Neils Olson, and Dora Lowry Olson.

John Lowry Sr. (1799-1867), his first wife, Susan Groome (d. 1823), his second wife, Mary Wilcox (b. 1802), and their ten children were converted to the LDS Church in Missouri in 1833.
